WIC Breastfeeding Peer Counselor
WIC participants are eligible for this free program. It involves breastfeeding classes and home visits/hospital visits. Home visits can include prenatal, how to perfect breastfeed, and breastfeeding management.
Baby Feeding Classes:
Where: lower level classroom at Boyle County Health Department
When: monthly
The topics included in this class are breast milk vs. formula, how breastfeeding works, newborn baby behavior, how to manage challenges in the first few weeks of parenthood, use of pumps, and tips on breastfeeding in public.
Mommy and Me Classes:
Where: Downstairs at the Boyle County Health Department (use side door on the right side)
Each mommy and me meeting will involve a craft. Please contact the breastfeeding peer counselor 24 hours before the class so that the will be enough supplies.
