RE: EXECUTIVE ORDER TO CLOSE PUBLIC-FACING BUSINESSES

To Whom It May Concern:

On March 17 2020, Governor Beshear issued an Order instructing “all public-facing businesses that encourage public congregation or, that by the nature of the service to the public, cannot comply with CDC guidelines concerning social distancing, [to] cease all in-person operations.”

By the nature of their service to the public, Tattoo Studios, Body Piercing Studios, and Ear Piercing studios cannot comply with CDC guidelines concerning social distancing and shall cease operation.

All Tattoo Studios, Body Piercing Studios, and Ear Piercing Studios, including those Ear Piercing Studios which are permitted within a larger retail establishment, must comply with the Order and close for business by 5:00 PM, March 18th, 2020.

In addition, until the guidance in this Order is lifted, Local Health Departments will not issue temporary permits for Tattooing or Piercing.

These measures will be in place until further notice. We thank you for your cooperation and will continue to provide you with updates as they are available.

In response to this Order, the Kentucky Department for Public Health has ordered the closure of all Tanning facilities.

All Tanning facilities, including those which are permitted within a larger establishment, must comply with the Order which became effective 5:00 PM, March 18th, 2020.

These measures will be in place until further notice. We thank you for your cooperation and will continue to provide you with updates as they are available.
